11.3 Painting Power Tools – Demonstrate basic knowledge and proper use of common power tools related to painting

11.4 Substrate Materials – Demonstrate knowledge of common substrate materials and surface conditions found in painting

11.5 Solid Coatings – Demonstrate knowledge of common solid coatings and their use

11.6 Drywall Finish Levels – Identify the different levels of gypsum board finish as defined by industry specifications

11.7 Drywall Textures – Identify different drywall finish textures

Taping, Masking, & Site Prep: Knowledge and Skill Badge

These credentials signify mastery of the Knowledge-based elements and proficiency in the Skills-based elements of the Painting – Taping, Masking, & Site Prep competency framework.

These credentials signify mastery of the Knowledge-based elements and proficiency in the Skills-based elements of the Basic Surface Prep competency framework.

11.13 Brushing – Demonstrate knowledge and proper use of specific tools and materials when applying coatings with brushes

11.14 Rolling – Demonstrate knowledge and proper use of specific tools and materials when applying coatings with rollers

11.15 Brush & roller care – Demonstrate ability to properly clean and store paint brushes, rollers and roller covers including the proper disposal of waste paint, solvents, and wastewater.
